What is the GSA?
GSA is the centralized procurement for the federal government offering products, services and facilities that federal agencies need to serve the public. GSA's acquisition solutions offer private sector professional services, equipment, supplies, telecommunications, and information technology to government organizations and the military. GSA policies promote management best practices and efficient government operations.
GSA offers AHSG the opportunity to sell our medical staffing services to federal agencies within the United States of America.
What are GSA Schedules?
Under the GSA Schedules (also referred to as Multiple Award Schedules and Federal Supply Schedules) Program, GSA establishes long-term governmentwide contracts with commercial firms to provide access to over 11 million commercial supplies (products) and services that can be ordered directly from GSA Schedule contractors or through the GSA Advantage!® online shopping and ordering system.
GSA Schedules offer customers direct delivery of millions of state-of-the-art, high-quality commercial supplies and services at volume discount pricing. All customers, even those in remote locations, can order the latest technology and quality supplies and services, conveniently, and at most favored customer prices. GSA Schedules also offer the potential benefits of shorter lead-times, lower administrative costs, and reduced inventories. When using GSA Schedules, ordering activities have the opportunity to meet small business goals, while promoting compliance with various environmental and socioeconomic laws and regulations.
AHSG obtained a VA Federal Supply Schedule contract in March 2010 allowing us to offer medical staffing services within the Unites States of America.
Types of GSA Schedules
Multiple Award Schedules (MAS)- These Schedules cover contracts awarded to firms supplying comparable commercial supplies and services at varying prices. They provide customers with the variety and flexibility necessary to select the best value item that meets their needs at the lowest overall cost alternative (considering price, special features, administrative costs, etc.). Consistent with the Competition in Contracting Act, Multiple Award Schedules are competitive in that participation in the program is open to all responsible sources, and orders placed following the procedures in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 8.4 result in the lowest overall cost alternative to meet the needs of the government.
Single Award Schedules (SAS)- These Schedules cover contracts made with one supplier for a specific product at a stated price for delivery to a geographical area defined in the Schedule. At the present time, GSA has one Single Award Schedule.
